New Ownership and New Menu at Cameron Bar and Grill—A Simple Turn Toward Tradition

Per Release: Expanding opportunities westward, Eschelon Hospitality has officially moved into historic Cameron Village. Since opening in 2008,Cameron Bar and Grill had been owned by the DiMartino brothers.  After purchasing the business last month, G Patel, alongside his hospitality company, are excited to move into one of the Village’s prestigious establishments. Since its inception in 1949, Cameron Village has been one of the most sought after retail and restaurant locations on the East Coast and Eschelon is happy to be claiming a spot.

Cameron Bar and Grill maintains its original theme. The décor reflects the all-American traditional feel of the 1950s. Pictures of times past adorn the walls, with warm and inviting colors. Cameron’s menu will also reflect the classic feel of the same era. With honest foods like the grilled pimento cheese sandwich, chicken fried steak, bison meatloaf and banana pudding, guests are sure to find several options that “take them back.”

“We wanted to create a menu that was cohesive with the décor of the restaurant,” says John Anderson, Corporate Chef of Eschelon Hospitality.  “Our food is straightforward and simply good.”The new Cameron Bar and Grill menu is still offered to guests in its entirety all day, except for the brunch menu, which is only offered Saturday and Sunday. Guests will see many new changes to this menu; more fresh and local ingredients and more authentic dishes will be offered. Several of the dishes on the new menu reflect the time and style of the old Cameron Village. The Vintage Pretzel with a pimiento cheese dip on the appetizer list promises to be a local favorite, as does the Lobster Roll from the sandwich selection. The Fried Chicken and Waffles, Lobster Mac & Cheese and Shrimp and Grits from the entrée side of the menu boasts an overall “comfort food” feeling. Still serving the coldest beer in the Village, patrons will also find some inventive new cocktails that promise to be refreshing.

“The opportunity to purchase Cameron Bar and Grill was a welcome one.  It is a staple in Cameron Village and adds a lot of strength to our portfolio of restaurants,” says G Patel, Owner of Eschelon Hospitality.

In 1947, James Wesley “Willie” York and R.A. Bryan started building Cameron Village on 158 acres of land. This land was the original land of the Cameron’s Plantationand as homage to that family, York and Bryan named this oldest open-air mall after them. Cameron Bar and Grill is an extension of that, and guests can rely on Eschelon Hospitality to adhere to the same standards.
